Grand Theft Auto

The action-adventure Grand Theft Auto series was first developed in 1997 by DMA Design’s David Jones and Mike Dailly. DMA Design became a member of Take-Two Interactive’s Rockstar North label when Grand Theft Auto 3 was released in 2001. Third-person shooting and driving in an open world inspired by real-world places like Miami, New York, and Los Angeles are the franchise’s main gameplay mechanics. Grand Theft Auto 5’s 2013 release elevated the series to its position as the fifth-best-selling video game franchise ever.
