Players will find valuable items like as the Amulet of Greater Health, Gauntlets of Hill Giant Strength, Helldusk Gloves, and Helldusk Armor as they explore the House of Hope in Baldur’s Gate 3. Also, Tav can obtain the Helldusk Helmet, 666 Gold, Staff of Willpower, and Mol’s contract if they avoid Raphael’s Vault Inert Infernal Gem Wisdom check (10) and Infernal Control Gem Arcana check. The latter can be sent to Mol in order to protect the young Tiefling and to give Mol the chance to learn about the dangers of selling one’s soul to the devil.

Raphael’s home in Avernus, the House of Hope, plays a significant role in the primary story of Baldur’s Gate 3. The cambion also stores the Orphic Hammer there, along with other valuable gear, consumables, and items. For any BG3 player, this place is a “must-visit at least once” because it surely enhances the story and gameplay. Still, the House of Hope is quite difficult to locate because it is not shown on the city map. In order to complete the ritual puzzle and gain entry via the portal, this guide will offer detailed instructions.

Where is the House of Hope Bg3 Devil’s Fee in Baldur’s Gate?

A ritual circle that creates a portal into the Nine Hells is the only way to enter the realm of Avernus, where the House of Hope is located. The Devil’s Fee shop, which is located in the northern section of the Lower City map in Act 3, is where the ritual circle is placed. From the Basilisk Gate waypoint, when you initially enter the city, you may go northwest to reach it. Alternatively, you can teleport to the Lower City Central Wall and head directly north to locate the Devil’s Fee if you’ve previously found the waypoint there.

It looks like Helsik operates a typical shop inside the Devil’s Fee. However, party members may make comments about her occupation as a diabolist if you comment about at the things available for sale. Also, there are a lot of unsettling objects and arcane symbols scrawled with blood if you make it to the top level.

How to Enter the House of Hope BG3

Players may learn during Act 3 that Gortash took the Crown of Karsus straight from Mephistopheles’s vaults, one of the Archdevils of Hell. This indicates that there is a Diabolist in Baldur’s Gate who can sneak demons’ private domains.

Helsik, the dwarf who owns the Devil’s Fee shop, is this diabolist. This shop is located west of the Forge of the Nine and southwest of the graveyard on the north side of the Lower City. In addition to having a decent selection of items for sale, players can roll Arcana checks by interacting with the items she has on display. The party will confront Helsik about it after determining that she is more than a dabbler by passing two checks. An even greater selection of store items becomes available as a result. Ask her how to enter the House of Hope when you speak with her again.

For a staggering 20,000 gold, Helsik will clear the path for the party. In order to reduce the price to 10,000 gold, players can either pay it out or attempt an intimidation roll against 20. Players must locate and offer her the Gauntlets of Hill Giant Strength, which are also located in the House of Hope, in order for her to waive the fee entirely after a Persuasion check against 20.

The Grimoire Bound in Imp Skin from Helsik can also be pickedpocketed by players to avoid this fee. The rooms and chests upstairs contain everything the party needs to open the portal, and the Grimoire will specify where to put each item on the blood circle.

Give a bottle of water to the Thirsty Ward, the golden mask at the top of the stairs, to help them escape the fireball trap. Also, the party can jump up to the balcony on each side of the building or do a misty step. The only downside to this approach is that, if players convince the Helsik to help, she will provide the group with a bag containing all the necessary items and a set of instructions that are far more straightforward than the Grimoire.

To open the portal, players must do the following:

  • Place a skull on the arrow pointing at the altar (west).
  • Going clockwise, place the Coin of Mammon on the next point along the edge of the circle.
  • Skip the next point, then place a diamond on the point after (east by northeast).
  • On the next point clockwise from the diamond, place some incense.
  • Finally, place the Infernal Marble in the center of the circle.

An infernal flame will light up the item, alerting players that it is at the proper spot. A portal to the House of Hope will open if all five items are in their proper locations.

The Decrepit Village and the Dread Hollow are located on this map.
The ritual pouch should be opened. Position the skull at the westernmost point of the circle, where it hits the desk. Go across the room with your back to the skull. Place the incense sticks on the right point and the diamond on the left. Return to the skull and confront it. Position the Infernal Marble in the middle and the Mammon’s Coin to the skull’s right.

The Emperor repeatedly warns you against doing the rite, and although he is right that the hardships that lie ahead will be challenging, joining the House of Hope will not affect your relationship with him or anyone else. Enter the House of Hope by interacting with the active portal.

Make sure you have a party member who can cast Guidance, lots of potions, and weapons that don’t cause radiant damage before you enter the House. Make sure the person who understands the Globe of Invulnerability spell is ready, and Arcane Cultivation elixirs are also helpful. It will come in handy when you confront Raphael.

For this adventure, I advise leaving weaker party members like Jaheira and Gale at camp. Weaker heroes might be easily defeated by your opponent in the final battle, which puts you at a significant disadvantage.

Where to go in the House of Hope in BG3 | Meeting Hope

There are four soul pillars in the chamber you enter, but you are unable to use them at this time. As you are about to leave the room, a woman named Hope’s ghost appears and begs with you to save her. Moreover, she offers you Debtor’s Attire, which takes the place of your armor as the default visible clothing and instantly replaces your camp attire. But the effects of your armor don’t change.

If you don’t wear these clothes while you’re here, several enemies will appear and everyone will become hostile. Hope will tell you where to find the Orphic Hammer if you agree to aid her. Enter the feasting room, ignoring the prison hatch in the feasting room. If you’re interested in learning more about Ketheric and Moonrise, you may talk to the skeletal mason there.

In essence, the House of Hope is a huge circle. You may talk to the other debtors to learn more grim background about the house and Raphael’s operates, and the main thoroughfare surrounding the feasting room leads to various balconies with views of Avernus.

You will observe an open room that is now inaccessible due to an energy barrier. There is an Infernal Gem on the other side. You can access the chamber beyond it, which contains Mol’s contract and various rare items, if you pass both the Intelligence and Wisdom checks. Either defeat Raphael later or give Mol back the contract if you wish to release her from it.

The Archive is at the end of the hallway. When Hope reappears, she informs you that the Archivist holds the key to obtain the Orphic Hammer, but there is a catch. You’re not welcome.

The Rooms of the House of Hope Bg3

Players will locate the first room, which is filled with portals, counterclockwise from the open door. The party can only view these portals because Raphael is the only one who can use them. While cleaning the room, a gnome named Nubaldin will say that he used to know Gortash as a kid. Go quickly because there are no objectives or loot in this room.

The party may jump from the little balcony with a broken railing outside the room to a set of stones that go down to the prison and up to the boudoir.

The front entrance to the boudoir is located at the north end of the corridor, but unless the party receives an invitation, entry will be blocked by a Mystic Force Curtain. A blocked archway is reached by a set of stairs just across from the boudoir. To use the gem and unlock the hidden door, the party must first pass a Perception check to find an Inert Infernal Gem, then a Wisdom check against 10 to activate the gem, and lastly an Arcana check against 20.

There is a treasure hoard behind the door. The Helldusk Helmet and 666 gold are part of the main hoard. Mol’s Contract is on the pillar to the left, while the Staff of Spellpower is on the pillar to the right. By taking this contract and returning it to Mol, who is now staying in the Guild’s headquarters, the party can absolve the Tiefling of any obligation, as Mol reportedly required Raphael’s help to leave the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

Hope expects that the party will go to the Archive, which is the final door on the west side of the hall. Make sure you open the door to the banquet hall by pulling the lever on the other wall before you speak to her.

Players now need to pass a 15 Charisma, Intelligence, or Wisdom check in order to obtain further information from Hope. She will mention in passing that the Archivist holds the invitation that players require in order to enter the boudoir. After then, players can attempt a Persuasion check to get a name that will make it easier for them to cow the Archivist.

In order to convince the Archivist that they are a fiendish bureaucrat who has come to evaluate Raphael, players can attempt a deception check against a 15 if they manage to obtain the name. This will instantly send the boudoir invitation to the party. In order to obtain the name, a party member may also try a Detect Thoughts check. Players can also attempt an Intimidation, Persuasion, or Deception check against a 25 by asking about the contract or hammer.

If everything else fails, the party can either utilize the back way jumping across the stones from the northeast balcony or fight or pickpocket the Archivist to get the invitation. The necessary jumps may be executed by a character with as little as 8 Strength.

What Awaits in the Boudoir

Someone who like Raphael is laying on his bed, but he is not in the boudoir. The incubus Haarlep has adopted Raphael’s appearance as his perfect lover. Gamers have the option to accept Haarlep’s request for a key to Raphael’s safe or to refuse. Haarlep will attack and call forth six Vengeful Imps to assist them if they don’t comply. Players can obtain the Key to access Raphael’s Safe once they’re down.

Use the Restoration Faucets at the boudoir’s pool after the fight. Every spell slot, ability, and hit point character that may have been lost will be restored by these faucets. short rest uses is the one thing it doesn’t do. There are also a number of chests in the boudoir that contain valuable items.

A conspicuous button is located beneath a painting of Raphael wielding flames to the left of the bed. Press the button to expose a safe after disarming the painting, if at all possible. With Haarlep’s key, the safe will open, revealing a contract containing the magic words that will provide the party access to the Helldusk Gloves and the contract or Orphic Hammer.

How to Free Hope Bg3

Return to the Archive and use the magic words to either steal the Orphic Hammer or tear up the contract. Although he won’t put an end to the party, the Archivist will alert the player that Raphael is angry and returning home. However, every other resident of the House of Hope has become hostile. They’ll attempt to rush into the party and explode, resulting in fire damage and turning into some kind of vengeful monster.

Players should now remove everything from the Archive. This includes an Amulet of Greater Health and the Gloves of Hill Giant Strength that Helsik desired. These items are highly worth purchasing because they raise Strength and Constitution to 23. The Archivist would have been incensed if these things had been stolen sooner, but now that the House is hostile, it doesn’t matter. From the display cases, the party may also obtain a number of gems and potions.

The Hell Spheres are two enemies to be on the watch for when players cross the House of Hope. These elementals inflict amazing quantities of fire damage on everyone in their nearby. Weapons, Acid, Lightning, and Radiant all deal them less damage, whereas Necrotic, Fire, Psychic, and Poison do not. But since they move so slowly, spells like Repelling Blast and Ray of Frost can keep them at bay indefinitely.

Players can enter the glowing green passageway or use the outer rocks once again to go to Hope’s prison, which is accessible through a hatch on the east side of the House. In either case, the party must defeat six Vengeful Imps and two Spectators in order to free Hope. Due to the Vengeful Imps’ Repelling Blast and ability to knock characters into chasms, players should stay away from sending party members into the chamber. Rather, let the enemies to get close and launch a ranged attack on the party.

Players may maintain Hope in place by equipping a party member with the Orphic Hammer and having them hit the two glowing rocks once their enemies have been defeated. Hope will become a party follower at this point. She is an excellent party healer because she is a level 10 Life Domain Cleric.

Before you enter the Archive, cast Detect Thoughts or take a mind-reading potion, then talk to the Archivist. Convince him that you are indeed employed by Zarial by selecting the Detect Thoughts option and passing a deception check. You’ll have some freedom in the archive and be invited to Raphael’s boudoir if you use this strategy. Although there isn’t much value in doing so, you can use the balcony in the northeastern room to access some rocky ledges and enter the boudoir without an invitation. In any case, you must still speak with the Archivist.

To deactivate the magic shield, go over to the hammer and enter the password you discovered in Raphael’s note. Your Debtor’s Attire falls away as soon as you pick up the hammer, and the House of Hope turns against you. A flaming sphere and several imps also spawn. This obstacle cannot be avoided, but if you don’t want to fight, you may handle it in a sneaky way.

Send three party members to the prison hatch before you reach for the hammer. To blast it open, pass a strength check. In the Archives, switch back to your party member, pick up the hammer, and use an invisibility potion or cast invisibility. Before you go, be sure to steal the other treasure and the Gauntlets of Hill Giant Strength.

You should be able to pass past the feast room and reach the prison hatch unscathed because you are invisible.

How to free Hope Bg3 in the House of Hope Bg3

The crystals that hold Hope captive are guarded by a tiny army of imps and two Beholders. Since the Beholders may readily inflict fear on your allies, Death Ward and spells or armor that negate fear are useful in this situation. The imps are aware of Eldritch Blast and can use it to push you to your death, so stay away from ledges.

The best spells to deal with the imps swiftly are area-of-effect spells like Cloudkill, Cone of Cold, and Chain Lightning. Though squishy, the Beholders are tough. It should just take you a turn or two to defeat them.

Use the Orphic Hammer to hit the two crystals and rescue Hope once the enemies have been eliminated, but not before, since this might free her. Save, heal, and employ the angelic slumber potions you stole from the boudoir. Use your fire resistance elixirs if you have any. If not, Craft them. Step out of the prison and back into the foyer. You have a visitor.

How to beat the Raphael boss fight in the House of Hope Bg3

How To Beat The Raphael Boss Fight In The House Of Hope Bg3 | Tellagraph.com

There are several moving parts in the Raphael boss fight. The demon himself, Korilla, and Yurgir from the Gauntlet of Shar are present. You may either utilize Hope’s unique skill to permanently banish him from the field or pass a difficult persuasion check to recruit him.

Along with summoning six Cambions that use fire spells, Raphael also receives buffs from the room’s soul pillars.

You have to deal with the Cambions first. For this phase, Counterspell, Fire Resistance, and Absorb Elements are strong options; Silence is another possibility. Now that you’ve overcome them, focus on the Soul Pillars. Use weapon attacks to destroy them.

Raphael’s turn is now. You can try Hope’s intervention skill once to give your party the equivalent of a long rest, and you can use Polymorph and Silence to take a break from his strong fire spells. Like most spellcasters, Raphael is a bit squishy. Take care of him fast by using your best melee fighters and attacks.

In his second phase, Raphael employs spells more often and has the ability to take down weaker or injured party members with one hit. However, your general approach should not change. When possible, offer assistance and healing, and use your best qualities to defeat him quickly. Because of their high strength stats and additional actions, a Fighter, Barbarian, or a multiclass with both is the best choice.

How to Solve Ritual Circle Puzzle in the Devil’s Fee | Legendary Rewards

There is a ritual circle painted in blood on the top floor. You must arrange the items of the small bag in the appropriate spots on the ritual circle in order to open the portal to the House of Hope. Position the Infernal Marble in the Star’s center.

Secondly, the sequence in which you arrange them on the floor is irrelevant. But to keep things simple, let’s begin at the star point, which is a triangle pointing toward the desk, and work our way clockwise.

  • Skull: Place it on the star point
  • Infernal Marble: In the center
  • Diamond: Place it on the third spot
  • Incense: Put it on the next to the door to the balcony
  • Coin of Mammon: Put in on the next star point

In House of Hope, you will find fantastic Items such as:

  • Gauntlets of Hill Giant Strength
  • Helldusk Gloves
  • Orphic Hammer
  • Amulet of Greater Health
  • Staff of Spell Power
  • Gloves of Soul Catching

House Of Hope Bg3 prison

The Prison Hatchway, which descends beneath the House and into Hope’s Prison, is located next to the Chamber of Egress at the eastern end of the Main Corridor. The Passageway, located outdoors, just north of the Eastern Balcony, is another way to get to the Prison. At the center of the room, Hope is restrained by two unbreakable chains that are supported by rocks and that the Orphic Hammer may destroy.

House Of Hope Bg3 Archive

The Archive is located in the Main Corridor’s westernmost room. A route back to the feast hall may be accessed by pulling a lever opposite the entrance.

There are several books in the Archive that include information on the House and the Crown of Karsus. More importantly, the Archivist is watching three pedestals that contain rare equipment.

If the object is removed, a pressure plate on each pedestal—which may be disarmed—notifies the House. The Gauntlets of Hill Giant Strength are located on the northern pedestal, the Amulet of Greater Health is located on the southern one, and the Orphic Hammer or Soul-Sworn Contract, which can only be accessed by removing the shield with a password, are located to the west, depending on the party’s decisions when dealing with Raphael in Sharess’ Caress.

Two Hell Spheres will appear separately at different locations in the main corridor when the party reaches them, and the Debtors around the House will turn hostile if the party takes the Orphic Hammer or if an item is taken from a dais without disarming its trap.

House Of Hope Bg3 Raphael’s Vault

Just south of the Boudoir entrance lies the entrance to Raphael’s Vault. The party must first detect the infernal gem by passing a DC 10 Perception check, then interact with it by passing a DC 10 Wisdom check and a DC 20 Arcana check in order to gain entry. It contains Mol’s contract if she survived Act One, the Staff of Spellpower, and the Helldusk Helmet.

House Of Hope Bg3 Main Corridor

The east and west exits from the Feast Hall lead to the semicircular Main Corridor. It is inhabited by many Eternal Debtors and serves as a link between all of the House’s rooms. There are several containers on the Main Corridor that hold debtor’s attire. On the east end of the corridor lies the prison Hatchway, which leads to Hope’s prison.

House Of Hope Bg3 Feast Hall

Raphael’s initial introduction took place in the feast hall, which is the next room north of the foyer. The lavish food displays and well-organized furniture are no longer there, and the party can now witness the true nature of Raphael’s illusory temptations: rotting food, disorder, and wandering, trapped souls.

A lone Infernal Mason, identifying himself as the architect of Moonrise Towers, is cleaning the hall.
